There is a way to receive alerts from the Office of Emergency Services. Below is information regarding the CodeRED System that is utilized in Trinity County.

You can also receive notification from Trinity PUD regarding power outages by signing up for Outage Notifications through emails and/or texts. You can do this by logging into your SmartHub account. Click on Settings then click on Manage Notifications then click on Service. If you do not have a cell phone or email listed on your SmartHub account, you can add those by Clicking on Settings then click on Manage Contact information. If you have problems logging into SmartHub or setting up your notification, contact the Trinity PUD office at (530) 623-5536 during normal business hours.

Ways to Be Prepared for Power Outages

  • Keep Trinity PUD updated with any changes in your phone number and email address.
  • Identify backup charging methods for phones and other electronic devices.
  • Keep emergency, family and other important phone numbers accessible in hard copy.
  • Plan for any medical needs like medications that need to be refrigerated or devices that require power.
  • If you are dependent on any electric or battery-dependent medical technologies such as breathing machines, a power wheelchair or scooter, and home oxygen or dialysis, it is critical that you have a plan in place for an extended power outage.
  • Plan for the needs of your pets and livestock.
  • Build or restock your emergency kit with flashlights, fresh batteries, first aid supplies, cash and food that will last up to five days.
  • Designate an emergency meeting location.
  • Know how to manually open your garage door.
  • Ensure any backup generators are ready to safely operate.
  • Ensure your vehicle(s) fuel tanks are full.
  • Do you have adequate defensible space around your home or business? Trinity PUD has invested significant resources to maintain the health of the vegetation and reduce fuels for wildfires around the many facilities and properties that the we own in Trinity County. Maintaining adequate defensible space to prevent catastrophic wildfires is every property owner’s responsibility.
